About the Event
To understand the effects of light on the human physiology, it is important to understand light. Briefly, light is radiation in a specific range of the electromagnetic spectrum which has a direct effect on our own energy / electromagnetic system.
The light/dark cycle of the sun has a powerful effect on the circadian clock, our sleep, and our alertness. Your body's circadian clock responds to light, as a signal to be awake, and dark, as a signal to fall asleep.
In more recent years the availability of artificial light and the use of technology has substantially changed the light environment and thus interrupted our natural energy systems and our individual circadian rhythms.
It has been established that nocturnal light has been shown to alter circadian rhythms and sleep in humans. In this week’s forum let’s explore how light affects our energy systems and how to start to recognise our own natural rhythm.
